W. Pidhirney Welding LTD BBQ season has been not only very well received but also I think it has been a huge success. We travelled around to different areas and worked in all different weather conditions.
June 25,2008 - Our first BBQ was held at the shop as a trial run. We fed about 30 people on that beautiful sunny day. Everyone enjoyed the food and was so helpful.
June 26,2008 - Our second BBQ was for CCS Plant at Edson. We fed around 40 people on what started out to be a nice day and turned into a rainy day. We had a lot of help from the crew setting up, cooking and packing up. It was much appreciated.
September 10,2008 - Our third BBQ was outside Hanna for Conoco. We fed 32 people on a warm, yet cloudy day. Again the crew was there to help us with whatever we needed.
September 18,2008 – Our fourth BBQ was at Crestmere for Encana. This was a smaller BBQ than usual, we only fed 25 people that day but they all enjoyed it. That day it was sunny and hot (28*C).
October 8,2008 – Our fifth BBQ was our biggest yet. It was for Conoco-East’s Safety Meeting at the Eckville Community Centre. We fed 70-75 people but this time with some difficulty because it was a very windy day and it kept blowing out the BBQ. Everyone still got fed on time and thankfully we were at the Hall so we could put the food inside where the wind couldn’t get at it!
October 14,2008 – Our sixth BBQ was supposed to be down the North Chungo 22.5km for WPW crews along with some engineers from Calgary but as it turned out it had rained the night before and was too dangerous to go out. So the shop was lucky enough to get another BBQ. We fed 40 hungry people who were happy to receive it. It was a sunny but windy, cool day but nobody seemed to mind. It was a nice way to start and end the season!
Looking forward to next year, new experiences, new recipes, new places to see.
